Prospect Generation

Find real businesses from the web, public social pages and Google Maps, check their contacts, score them, and add the best to Outreach.

What it does

Prospect generation builds an outreach list for you. Describe who you want to reach, choose where to look, and GigRoot finds real businesses, checks how to contact them, removes the ones already in your CRM, scores the rest, and lets you add the best to Outreach in one click.

It lives in CRM → Outreach: the header has Generate prospects, Past runs and, while a run is waiting for you, a Prospects ready chip.

Step 1 — Targeting

Tell GigRoot who to find in one of two ways:

  • Manual targeting — industry, geography, company size, target roles, keywords, and how many prospects you want (10 to 100).
  • From agency profile — AI drafts the brief from your Company Profile — specializations, services, technologies and target clients — and shows an editable ICP summary.
Fill in your Company Profile
From agency profile reads Settings → Company profile. If it is empty there is nothing to infer from — fill in your specializations, services and target clients first.

Step 2 — Where to look

Choose a mode:

  • Live sources — real businesses from Google, public social pages and Maps, merged, checked and scored. The recommended mode.
  • AI suggestions — ideas from the AI's own knowledge, with no live search. Useful for brainstorming; up to 50 per run.

With Live sources, tick the places to search (Web, LinkedIn and Google Maps are on by default):

  • Web — company websites.
  • LinkedIn — company pages, and people by the roles you entered.
  • Google Maps — local businesses, with phone number and rating.
  • Instagram, Facebook and X — business profiles, pages and accounts.
GigRoot never signs in to social networks
Social networks are read only through their public Google search results and what businesses publish themselves. GigRoot never logs in to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook or X, and never scrapes them.

Keys you need

Live sources use search providers you connect in Settings → AI configuration → Lead Generation Integrations:

  • Serper — needed for Web and the social sources (its free tier includes 2,500 searches). It can also search Maps.
  • Google Places — an alternative for Google Maps that returns richer business details.
  • Hunter and Apollo — optional email finders, used only if you add them. Apollo also needs target roles.

An AI key (Anthropic or Gemini, in the same settings page) is optional for Live sources: without it the run still finds, checks and scores prospects, it just skips the pitch angles. AI suggestions mode needs it. Only the owner manages these keys.

Contact checks, duplicates & scoring

Every prospect's contact details go through free checks first: emails and phone numbers the business publishes, then a check that its domain actually accepts mail, then — only for a named person on a domain that takes mail — a guessed address pattern. Hunter and Apollo are tried after that, if you added them. Each email carries a badge: Verified, Published, Guessed — verify, No email or Domain takes no mail.

Prospects already in your outreach, leads, deals or contacts — matched on email, company domain or phone — are set aside and marked Already in outreach, Already a lead and so on, so you never contact the same business twice.

Each prospect gets a score out of 100, and Why this score shows the breakdown:

  • Fit (up to 35) — your industry, keywords and roles appear in what the sources say.
  • Location (up to 15) — the place you asked for appears in the address or listing.
  • Reach (up to 25) — a verified or published email, a phone number, a social profile.
  • Credibility (up to 25) — its own website, Maps rating and reviews, several sources agreeing. A permanently closed business scores nothing here.

If AI is set up, it adds a one- or two-sentence Pitch angle for each prospect and checks the fit; a poor fit loses its fit points and gets a Weak fit badge. AI never adds companies of its own to a Live sources run.

Review & import

  1. 1
    Let it run
Choose Find N prospects (5 to 100 per run). The run continues in the background — searching, then checking contacts and merging duplicates, then writing pitch angles — and you can cancel it. A source that fails is reported and the others carry on.
  2. 2
    Review
Review prospects lets you filter by name, source, score (45+ or 70+), whether there is an email or phone, and hide the ones already in your CRM; sort by best first, Maps rating or name. Expand a row to see where it was found, and correct an email inline.
  3. 3
    Add to Outreach
New prospects scoring 45 or more that are not a weak fit come pre-selected. Adjust the selection and choose Add N to Outreach; they become outreach records with status New on the AI Generated platform.
Tip
A score of 70 or more is high confidence, 45 or more is medium. Imported prospects behave like any other outreach — move the good ones through the lead and deal pipeline as they respond.

Past runs

Past runs lists every run, newest first: the brief and geography, its status (Running, Ready to review, Partly added, All added, Failed or Cancelled), when and by whom it ran, the sources used, and counts — prospects found, strong ones (70+), ones with an email, how many were added to Outreach, and how many were already in your CRM. Click a run to reopen its review and add more. Deleting a run keeps the outreach you already added from it.
