Security & Permissions

How roles, permissions, data access, and privacy protect your workspace.

Roles & permissions

Access in GigRoot starts with a role and is refined by per-module permissions. Owners and managers control which roles can access which modules and perform sensitive actions — for example, approving invoices, running payroll, or changing company settings. Grant the minimum each person needs.

Data access scoping

GigRoot automatically scopes records by role so people see only what is relevant to them: owners see everything, managers see their team's work, staff see their assignments, and consultants see only the projects and deals they are added to. This keeps data private by default as your team grows.

Note
Because views are role-scoped, always consider the reporter's role when a screen looks different from what an owner sees — it is often working as designed.

Privacy & your data

GigRoot protects your information with encryption in transit and at rest, strict internal access controls, and monitoring. In Settings → Privacy & security, Download my data gives you a file with your account, staff record, attendance, timesheets and consents. To have your data erased, ask your workspace owner or email [email protected]. For the full details, see the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum.

Colleagues' pay stays private
Salary, PAN and bank details of colleagues are visible only to the owner, managers, HR and the people who run payroll.
