Chat, Calls & Campaigns

Chat in channels and direct messages, make audio and video calls, and run email campaigns with templates.

Overview

Communication brings your team chat, direct messages, email, and video into one place — so conversations stay connected to the projects, deals, and people they are about, instead of scattered across separate apps.

  • Threaded chat — project-scoped channels, DMs, and threaded replies.
  • HD video & screen share — one-click calls with recording and AI summaries.
  • Live document co-editing — edit proposals and SOWs together with version history.
  • AI-drafted messages — draft replies, follow-ups, and updates in your tone.
  • Cross-app mentions — mention a person, project, deal, or invoice and they get a real notification.

Channels & group chat

Channels are group conversations for a team or project. Each channel has member management (add, remove, and set admin or member roles), pinned messages for important context, and a shared files browser so you can find everything sent in the channel. You can also bridge channels to Slack or Google Chat for hybrid setups.

Tip
Pin key decisions and links in a channel so new members can get up to speed without scrolling the whole history.

Messages & who you can reach

Chat lives in Communications → Messages. A few rules keep an agency's conversations its own:

  • Staff chat inside their agency. Direct messages, new groups, adding members and @mentions across agencies are refused for staff. Agency owners can still reach each other (for example from the Marketplace), and so can clients and independent professionals.
  • Presence stays private. Who is online is visible only within your agency and to people you share a chat with.
  • Only the sender deletes. Edit and Delete appear on your own messages, until someone replies; channel admins cannot delete other people's messages.
  • Renaming a channel — its admins and creator can, and so can the agency's owner or a manager, even if they are not in it.
  • Meetings in a chat can be cancelled by any member.

A message holds up to 20,000 characters, and an upload up to 10 files and 50 MB. Messages are always shown as text, never as HTML, and @mentions appear as chips.

Calls

Start an audio or video call from any conversation's title bar. A call rings for 45 seconds; if nobody answers, a Missed call card is posted in the chat. Only members of that conversation can accept or Decline, and a group call keeps ringing until every callee has declined. The call card records the talk time, counted from when the call was answered.

Email

Client email runs through shared inboxes: you forward your company addresses to GigRoot, and replies go out from those same addresses. Received and sent mail, the mailboxes and their unread counts sit beside Messages under Communications. See Email & shared inboxes for setup, AI triage, signatures and support tickets.

Campaigns & templates

Run email campaigns to reach many contacts at once, with reply tracking so you know who engaged. Save templates for messages you send often — outreach, follow-ups, onboarding — so you are not rewriting the same email every time. Campaigns pair naturally with CRM outreach.
